| The purpose of the Darnell Dinkins Maleness to Manhood Foundation is to build leadership, responsibility, integrity and teamwork. The foundation’s goal is to strengthen our youth, by preparing them for the future with knowledge and positive role modeling. | |||
| Darnell Dinkins’ basis is to teach by example. He comes from the troubled inner city area of Pittsburgh and Baltimore. He understands the hardships of inner city, single-parent living. Through positive role modeling, motivation, athletics and social education, today’s youth will have a game plan for success. | |||
| Mission Statement | |||
The Maleness to Manhood Foundation will target inner city youth and their families. The importance for positive male role models (e.g. father figures) is vital for the development of today’s youth. The foundation will use athletics and education as tools and motivators to strengthen family relationships, focusing on young men ages 10-17, as most inner city youth are faced with negative peer pressure in this age range, but are also involved to a large degree in organized sports. |
